Three travellers have been banned from flying with Spirit Airlines following they allegedly bodily assaulted two gate brokers next an argument above hand baggage.

The two personnel were being both hurt and a person was hospitalised next the assault at Detroit airport on 17 January.

In accordance to the airline, the altercation was sparked when employees questioned the size of the travellers’ carry-on bags.

“The agents asked the team to confirm that their have-on baggage ended up sized correctly for the aircraft prior to boarding, at which time the travellers became combative,” claimed a Spirit Airways spokesperson.  

“The agents attempted to calmly defuse the scenario but were bodily assaulted by these travellers as they closed a doorway to prevent them from boarding the aircraft.”

Two of the travellers were arrested whilst the 3rd was issued with a police quotation and released.
